of a political orthodoxy, but rather from a betrayal of principle. I feel that that latter is happening all too freely in service to the former in this partisan climate.

It's hard to say Dershowitz has suddenly become a GOP Trumper. Of course, one can thread a needle by characterizing his advocacy as self-serving promotion, though in any case, evidence of Dershowitz losing his way still comes down to his argument.

Making the case that we over-criminalize political differences doesn't strike me as outlandish.
